Gerard Stembridge’s name is indeed a well-known one. Talented at many things, he has been variously a co-writer of satirical comedy (Scrap Saturday), a screenwriter (Ordinary Decent Criminals, Nora), and a director (Guiltrip, About Adam, Alarm). And now he has written his third novel Unspoken. Join us for an evening with Gerard at Cashel Library when he will discuss of his latest novel Unspoken.
Copies of Gerard's novels are available in Cashel Library.
The Daily Mail Review of Unspoken:
Stembridge juggles characters and themes seemingly effortlessly, his stories are bedrocked by great humanity, and this huge book is, sadly, over almost before you know it. Wonderful.

Following last year’s highly enjoyable and interesting talk on Chopin, we have asked Ian Fox back again.
This year his subject is Franz Liszt, possibly the greatest pianist ever, born 200 years ago on October 22, 1811. In December 1840 Liszt arrived in Ireland at the head of a concert party. During the terrible winter weather they spent a month visiting Dublin, Cork, Clonmel, Limerick and Belfast. A detailed account of this extraordinary and hilarious tour exists and Ian Fox tells the story with recordings of some of the music he would have played.
Ian Fox has been presenting programmes on RTÉ radio and television for over 40 years. He was music critic of the Sunday Tribune for some 20 years and is Irish correspondent for Opera Magazine.
