Hand Ball Alley Mural

Cashel Arts Fest has commissioned local artist Damien McCarron to design and paint a mural in the Handball Alley in Cashel. This figurative design has been commissioned following consultation with Cashel Handball Committee.

Damien is a local artist and art teacher. He is well known for his backdrops in the Cashel Pantomime Society and his creative designs in the Credit Union Window. Damien has just finished working on sculpture pieces with Cashel Folk village and has exhibited in Cashel Library recently. He worked on a mural-painting project with teenagers in Tipperary Town last year. Damien is pleased to take commissions.

The 60x30 Handball Court was opened in 1975, having been built voluntarily by the people of Cashel in the memory of Monto Carrie. Cashel Handball Club has had much national and international success over the years.

About Us
Cashel Arts Festival is a 10 day festival of music, dance, visual art, theatre, comedy, talks, poetry, street performance, family and children's events.

Now in its seventh year, Cashel Arts Festival provides opportunities for all sections of the community to engage with a variety of art disciplines in an enjoyable and meaningful way.

The small voluntary committee work hard year round to bring an exciting and varied programme of events to Cashel each November.

Cashel Arts Fest 2009 has been a great success. We've marvelled at the talent of the young exhibitors in the Council Chambers, listened to the wonderful sounds of Anuna and the Cairde String Quartet, laughed with David O'Dohery and been thoroughly entertained by Wonderland Productions La Locandiera.

Thank you to all of you who took part, volunteered and helped during the festival. We're looking forward to Feile Fidelma 10th-12th September 2010 and are busy planning Cashel Arts Fest 2010!
