Craft and Food Fair with Ice Sculpting and Musical Entertainment

Browse the stalls, sample the best of local produce and enjoy the entertainment in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. For young and old alike, there will be more than enough to sample and buy at this Craft and Food Fair.

The main spectacle of the day will be ice sculpting with Ice sculpture artist Daniel Doyle. Daniel studied sculpture in the College of Marketing and Design in the early 1990s and has been involved in Sand Sculpture and Ice Sculpture Projects in Ireland and around the world since 1993. The quality of the ice is one of the major factors in producing good ice sculpture. Generally the water needs to freeze slowly and be free from impurities and air bubbles. This happens naturally in many parts of the world however in Ireland the ice has to be specially produced. The ice for the Cashel Arts Festival Ice Sculpture will transported in blocks to Cashel on the morning of the event. The ice sculptor will use a combination of ice welding techniques, chainsaw cutting, chiselling and hand cutting to create the ice sculpture. Depending on how cold it is the ice sculpture may last from overnight to a couple of days.

Musical entertainment will be provided at 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
