Opening of Chrysalis Art Exhibition & Cashel Arts Festival ‘09
A Sporting Artist- Exhibition of Paintings by Marley Irish
The seventh fest opens with a burst of creative talent from six
locally-born young artists. Large landscapes, abstract paintings
in oils and acrylic, digitally printed wallpaper patterns, colourful
knitwear and cartoons will be on display. The artists are Katie Byrne,
Rebecca Curling, Tanya Harris, Siobhán Delaney, Frances O’Connor
and Robert Kehoe. Many have completed Art College and are now
becoming professional artists. This exhibition is inspiring, colourful
and creative.
We welcome Sally O’ Leary, South Tipperary Arts Officer to officially
open the exhibition and the 2009 fest. Light refreshments provided.

Marley Irish takes a sporting theme as a backdrop for her exhibition.
In this, the 125th year of the GAA, it is very appropriate to see her
paintings which focus on hurling stars. Her work shows great realism
and it is not surprising that her paintings have been featured on “Up
For The Match” on RTÉ. Marley lives in Slieverue, Co. Kilkenny and
she has exhibited at the Kilkenny Arts Festival for the past 20 years.
All are welcome to attend the opening.

Cashel Arts Festival is a 10 day festival of music, dance, visual art, theatre, comedy, talks, poetry, street performance, family and children's events.
Now in its seventh year, Cashel Arts Festival provides opportunities for all sections of the community to engage with a variety of art disciplines in an enjoyable and meaningful way.
The small voluntary committee work hard year round to bring an exciting and varied programme of events to Cashel each November.
Cashel Arts Fest 2009 has been a great success. We've marvelled at the talent of the young exhibitors in the Council Chambers, listened to the wonderful sounds of Anuna and the Cairde String Quartet, laughed with David O'Dohery and been thoroughly entertained by Wonderland Productions La Locandiera.
Thank you to all of you who took part, volunteered and helped during the festival. We're looking forward to Feile Fidelma 10th-12th September 2010 and are busy planning Cashel Arts Fest 2010!
