Opening of Watercolour Society of Ireland Art Exhibition & Cashel Arts Fest 2010
We are delighted to have the opportunity to exhibit the work of twenty four members of the Watercolour Society of Ireland. This national society was founded in 1870 in Lismore, Co. Waterford and has just held its 156th Annual exhibition in Dun Laoighre in October. There are 25,000 works by 1200 artists in existence and most of the prominent watercolourists of their times have been or are members. A permanent exhibition of the Watercolour Society of Ireland is on display in the University of Limerick since 1993 and new exhibits are being constantly added.
The exhibition and the 8th Cashel Arts Fest will be opened by Patricia Butler, well know art historian who has recently written a lavishly illustrated history of the society.
This is your opportunity to see, browse (and purchase) current artists’ varied work of a very high standard.
Light refreshments and entertainment.
All are welcome to attend.
